About Myanmar Society of Anaesthesiologists

Myanmar Society of Anaesthesiologists (MSA) was founded in 1993. The society is a member of World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) since 1996. It has more than 300 member anaesthesiologists participating and supporting the society. The society itself is a non-profit organization registered in Myanmar Medical Association and organizing academic activities in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care.

Biennial Myanmar Conference of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care is a regular event organized by MSA, a special occasion for every member participating in academic activities, social gathering and homage paying ceremony to seniors which is traditional to scholar life.

MSA is collaborating internationally with World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists-WFSA, Burmese Medical Association of North America – BMA-NA, Australian Society of Anaesthetists-ASA, Japan Society for Clinical Anaesthsia-JSCA, Royal College of Anesthesiologists of Thailand-RCAT, Singapore Society of Anaesthesiologists and other anaesthesiologists and medical societies around the region.

Though relatively shorter duration of history of MSA, it is expanding and growing in members, achievement in academic activities, with the upgrade and reforms of anaesthesiologist training in Myanmar, with our ultimate goal of “Anaesthesia – Safety for All’’ in rural and urban.
